When coming to visit the U.S. as visitors – come adequately prepared.
- Have evidence with you to prove you have access to sufficient funds to maintain yourself in the U.S.
- Cell Phones: You can be asked to share your cell phone with border agents, who could also with your permission look at all your social media pages. If there was a big ‘Irish wake for you back in your local town/village with photos on your Facebook page with messages wishing you a good life in America - it’s possible U.S. agents may not believe you are coming here for a holiday.
- If coming to America to visit, have letters of invitations from U.S. residents/citizens, proof of funds, evidence of ties to Ireland (job letter/lease/home deed/car registration or insurance etc).
