Thank You For Your Support!
We'd like to say we strolled at dawn through a soft misty rain - but it poured buckets at Castle Island during our Solace Sunrise Walk on June 12th.
We joined together to show support for those feeling alone while remembering those we have lost to suicide. The rain did not deter the many, many walkers who joined us!
This was a tremendous success, showing strong, local support for those who are struggling with mental health. Our thanks to the crew on Cape Cod, spear headed by Sophie Kirby, who walked at the same time in solidarity.
While our Boston Walk raised funds to develop emotional support programs at the Irish Pastoral Centre, teams in New York, New Jersey, Texas and California gathered also. This was a mighty effort indeed!
Thank you to Solace House USA for coordinating this effort to benefit the Irish Pastoral Centre and to all who volunteered, donated, and joined us! Thanks also to our community partners: Rian Immigrant Center, Boston GAA and The Irish Cultural Center for walking with us! Go raibh mile maith agaibh! We are very grateful!
The Irish Pastoral Centre is committed to welcoming the ‘stranger among us.’ We believe in justice for all, solidarity in the face of hardship, and that the bonds of community are rooted in the best of what it means to be Irish. We provide a grassroots response to individuals in need offering spiritual, social, legal, and educational support.
The IPC RCAB is a non-profit social, legal & pastoral service based in the heart of an Irish-American community in Dorchester, MA.
